Always understand who you are talking to and explain information in terms that they
will understand quickly. The ability to take complex information, and simplify that
information is a skill.
- Analytical skills – Having the ability to break down issues into their components
becomes essential.
- Organizational skills – Most people are juggling many projects at once. The
ability to access information quickly, and perform tasks efficiently is essential
for taking on multiple jobs.
- Common sense – If something doesn’t make sense then you need to apply “common
sense” to change things so that they are right.
- Team player – Sometimes that means you will lead, and sometimes that means
you will follow. Always understand the role you are playing and be able to assist
others with their roles.
- Be happy – Don’t forget the reasons for which you are working. People will
enjoy working with you (and the company) if they feel good about themselves. Smile.
